Four countries, a wedding and RAIN
July 9th, 2007 by Zoë
So here I am, back in Oslo after two weeks of holidaying with Dad and Jo. I’m so exhausted I think I need another holiday to recover! We sure packed in a lot over the last two weeks, despite record rains throughout Europe.
The itinerary went basically like this:
- Dad and Jo arrived in Norway on Saturday the 23rd of June
- On the Sunday night we drove to Hemsedal and stayed in the cabin overnight
- Monday we drove to Geiranger and stayed in some little cabins there
- Tuesday we drove through the mountains and stayed in a little cabin in Skjolden
- Wednesday we drove back to Oslo
- Thursday Jo and I went shopping while Dad visited the Munch Museum
- Friday we sort of vegged out, but did a little bit of sightseeing around Oslo until the rain got the better of us, then had dinner with Glen and Trine
- Saturday we went for dinner at David and Merete’s place
- Sunday we caught the overnight ferry to Denmark
- Monday we spent the day in Copenhagen and then caught a late train to Hannover
- Tuesday was Chris’s birthday, which we spent shopping and wandering around in Hannover (great steak dinner that night)
- Wednesday we met up with Theresia in Hannover and late in the day caught the train to Heidelberg
- Thursday got completely drenched wandering around in the Old Town and Heidelberg Castle, then got an overnight train to Switzerland
- Friday morning arrived in Aigle (Switzerland) and pretty much passed out until dinner time when we met up with Juliane, Ueli and their families for dinner
- Saturday was the wedding
- Sunday spent the day at a hot springs bath in Lavey
- Monday morning headed back to Oslo
Whew! So that’s the basics. I’ll flesh it all out later with LOTS of photos.

Great news about the job, holiday and life in general for you.
Will email some news soon, we are off to the snow for a week, will be in touch after that.
