Greetings from Tokyo
It’s been a while since I’ve posted, but I figure it’s better to post when I actually have something to say, rather than gratuitously posting and boring you all to death.
So this week I actually have something to post about; I’m spending the week in Japan at our Tokyo office with a couple of days in Kyoto at the end of the week to meet with a customer.
I only arrived at about 5pm yesterday, so not much has happened so far. It took me two hours on a shuttle bus from the airport into the city to my hotel, but I was relieved that it was all pretty straightforward thanks to all the info my colleagues sent before I left.
We found that the simplest way to get from the airport to the city centre was via the “Limousine Bus” service, which cost ¥3000 and took just under two hours to get to the Shibuya area where I’m staying. The buses go to the major hotels in Tokyo, but there was a taxi rank outside the Cerulean Hotel where the bus dropped me off, so it was just a matter of jumping in a taxi and showing the driver the map to my hotel. 10 minutes later I was checking in. Easy peasy lemon squeezy.
The room is very small, but clean and nice and even though the website said single rooms have single beds, my room has a double bed.
I’ll post again when I’ve seen some things worth posting about and have taken some photos. Hopefully I’ll get over the jetlag quickly (I slept on the plane and then got an early night last night) and will get to see more than the inside of the office.

I got quite emotional looking at your Japan photos. It brought back memories of our trip last year. Kyoto is so beautiful even in winter! Thanks for sharing your time there.
