Employed at last!
After nine months of writing applications, attending interviews and being told I only just missed out, but was definitely the second choice… I have finally been offered a job in Norway!
I was actually offered the job a few days ago, but hadn’t formally accepted it until yesterday. I was waiting to hear back about another job that would have been fantastic, but I knew it was a long shot so I wasn’t that disappointed to hear I didn’t get it.
So I have a meeting on Tuesday to sign the contract and get my photo for my ID taken and all that jazz. I start on the 4th of June. Woo!
So what is the job, I hear you ask. It’s basically bug-testing for a software development company. It’s only part time at this stage, but I have heard there are a lot of opportunities for advancement in this company you just have to show them what you’re made of. The other nice thing is that a friend of mine from school just got a job there as a translator (Norwegian to Spanish), so I already know someone on staff.
Ah it will be so nice to have some money for summer… not to mention that my parents arrive at the end of my third week there, so I should have a little money to spend for our trip to Switzerland for Juliane and Ueli’s wedding. Ooh… that reminds me; must buy new dress.
I’m finally starting to feel like I live here now. And I might even be able to stop converting all the prices into Aussie dollars once I start earning Norwegian crowns.
